These works and our volunteers need you !

Taking care of the works is certainly voluntary but it generates costs : costs of restoration equipment and products, costs of premises, insurance costs, costs of communication around the works... Without Muses & A.R.T., without its volunteers and above all without you, our donors and members, these paintings will remain forgotten.

Portrait of Reverend Thomas Hopkins Gallaudet, anonymous, 19th century, Institut Départemental Gustave Baguer

This illustrious figure was a co-founder of the first schools for the deaf and hard of hearing in the United States.
Forgotten under a thick layer of yellowish varnish, the portrait loses its tonality. Conservative measures on the support are also necessary to remedy structural defects that directly impact the paint layer.
