The association Muses & A.R.T.

Muses & A.R.T., a non-profit organization (law 1901), acts for the preservation of painted heritage in danger.

Works forgotten by the eyes are dangerously altered in the shadows in the absence of sufficient funding. Urgent conservation measures would be necessary to limit the degradation of the painting and its support and thus make it possible to transmit the work and its history, its essence, to future generations.

And that’s where Muses & A.R.T intervenes : we perform conservation-restoration work on endangered works selected according to specific criteria, and we actively seek funds to finance concrete preservation measures through donation and sponsorship campaigns.

The time devoted to the safeguarding of works, the hours devoted to conservation-restoration work and communication operations are voluntary. The donations collected are used to finance all the costs inherent in the care of each selected work.

We are art professionals and, with other specialists and amateurs concerned with heritage, we reflect and work together for the safeguarding of painted works in danger, in the common concern to preserve our artistic wealth.

It is by preserving our heritage that we build our future…

Let us cultivate our attention on these works forgotten by all but not by the damage of time,

and let us awaken our eyes to the rediscovery of pictorial wonders out of the shadows.

Our architectural and pictorial heritage is of great richness but it is today threatened with destruction, substantial degradation, even disappearance.

Collectives and associations exist around the architectural heritage but there are for example quite few organizations invested in the safeguarding of polychrome works that represent our identity just as much.

The identification of cultural goods in peril is on the agenda and it must be noted that the conservation of these works is now difficult.
While painted heritage can receive subsidies ranging from 10 to 40% for a work listed as a historical monument, these subsidies are not systematic and depend on the state budget, the emergency, the opening to the public or the participation of other communities.
